Couples therapy, also known as couples or marital counseling, is a form of psychotherapy that deals with relationship problems within a couple. Couples therapy is for individuals in a relationship who are looking to build stronger relationships as well as those who are struggling with communication issues, infidelity, or other challenges. The desired outcome for couples is to better understand each other and communicate more effectively in order to solve their problems and strengthen the relationship.
In this type of therapy, the Dr. Jenny typically meets with both partners together to discuss the issues that they are having as well as working with them individually as needed. She encourages couples to address the trust or communication issues that may be present and helps couples to understand what they want out of their relationship and what they are willing to do to improve the relationship. More women are reporting stress related to infertility or IVF, but are not seeking mental health services, according to a new study. Researchers found that infertility factors are more likely to contribute to mental health issues in women than they were 15 years ago.The study, which looked at data from 16,000 women collected by the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health, found that almost 40 percent of women who reported infertility problems also reported moderate to severe levels of mental distress.
